What we collect

We collect only what is needed to run the assessment, deliver your report, and keep the service secure.

• Your email address, used to verify you and deliver a report.
• Any age or sensitive-data consent a survey requires, recorded against its exact wording and version.
• Your survey answers, generated report, and any exports you request — treated as sensitive data throughout.
• Some surveys include optional free-text boxes. Anything you type there is stored privately with your answers, is never shown to our staff, never changes your score, figure or result, and is deleted when your account is deleted. If a survey says it uses AI to write parts of your report, the free text can be used for that too: see AI-written report text below.
• A record that a purchase happened and which entitlement it unlocked. We never send your email address, name, or answers to Apple, Google, or RevenueCat — purchases are linked to your session by an anonymous handle, never your identity.

AI-written report text

Some surveys use an AI service to write short passages of your report in plain English, so the report explains why your result came out as it did in terms of your own answers. A survey tells you before you start if it does this; if it does not say so, none of your information is sent to an AI service.

Your score, any Mahr figure, flags and safety wording are always worked out by fixed rules and never by AI. The AI only writes the explanatory sentences, and every sentence is checked automatically against your answers before it is used. If the check fails, or the service is unavailable, your report simply shows our fixed wording instead.

• What is sent: the wording of the answers you chose, any optional free text you wrote in that survey, and the report's own fixed wording and figures. We never send your name or email address from your account, or anything else that identifies it. Free text is sent as you wrote it, so please do not type names or contact details into free-text boxes.
• Who receives it: Anthropic, the provider of the Claude AI model, acting as our processor. We ask it to use the information only to return the report text; see Anthropic's own privacy policy for how it handles data.
• Your safety: if your free text or your answers suggest you may be at risk of harm, we do not send your free text to the AI at all, and your report shows fixed support wording in its place.
• How long it is kept: the AI-written text is written once, stored with your report, never rewritten, and deleted with your report when your account is deleted. Our staff never see it. A copy of your report that we have already emailed to you cannot be recalled.

How long we keep it

Your answers, reports, and account data are kept until you ask us to delete them (see Data deletion). Email delivery logs are kept for 30 days to help diagnose a missed report, then discarded. A minimal purchase-transaction record is kept as long as required for tax and store accounting — it cannot be used to reconstruct your answers.

Who else sees it

We do not sell data or run advertising. A small number of specialist processors help us run the service: Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat process your purchase (without your identity), and we use self-hosted email delivery and report storage rather than third-party marketing tools. For surveys that say they use AI to write report text, Anthropic processes the information described above.

Your choices

You can ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time — see the Data deletion page, or email customer@mahrcalculator.co.uk. We will ask only for the details needed to verify it's you.
